About WageCalcs

WageCalcs is a set of free calculators for overtime and paid time off, built and run by Kordal Systems, a software studio.

Why it exists

Most overtime calculators multiply a rate by 1.5 and stop there. That works until a bonus changes the regular rate, a state adds daily overtime, a salary has to be turned into an hourly figure, or a PTO policy caps what you can earn. Those are the cases that change the answer, and they are the ones people search for.

So each calculator here handles them, and shows its working like a pay stub: hours × rate on every line, overtime in red, and the rule that produced it. If you want to check a figure by hand, you can. The calculations run in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server while you work out a result.

How the rules are checked

Every federal figure and every state rule comes from the statute, regulation or agency page that sets it, and each page links to that source. The state rules were last checked on September 25, 2026. Where a rule was checked against excerpts of the official source rather than its full text, the state page says so. How we calculate covers the method in full.

Who is behind it

Kordal Systems builds websites, web apps and AI tools. We are not a law firm or an accounting firm, and nothing on this site is legal or tax advice. When a question turns on your own facts, your state labor department, the U.S. Department of Labor or a qualified professional is the right place to ask.

How the site pays for itself

The calculators are free, and the site carries no ads or paid links today. If that changes, ads and paid links will be labelled wherever they appear, and neither will have any effect on a calculation.

Corrections

Laws change, and we would rather hear about it from you than get it wrong. If a rule or a figure looks out of date, email hello@wagecalcs.com with a link to the official source and we will check it.
